I was wondering if anyone could help a poor floundering newbie solve his problem. :) Our users dial up to a MAX4000, and while the MAX is reporting that they connect reasonably fast: 28-50kb/s depending on the speed of their modem, they typically have ping times in the 1000-2000ms range. In some extreame cases it's worse. Not all users are experiancing the problem. The lag seems to exist only between the MAX and the dial up users. If I bring up a shell account on the MAX and ping any site on the Internet it's quite fast however a ping from the MAX to a user is awful. I'm not sure where to start looking to narrow down the problem. When we first put the MAX in, things seemed excellent and rebooting the MAX didn't seem to do anything. To the very best of my knowledge no configuration changes have been made. If anyone could suggest a course a few things to try or to look at I'd apreciate it.
