Tried searching for info in our manuals (and several PDFs), but no luck. We have a TNT (TAOS 7.2.3), with an 8e1-card with 6 PRIs connected. Everything works fine, but sometimes I get these errors: Jun 27 13:35:57 TNT 1/17: [1/1/5/20] Call rejected, no ports available, [voice] -> [MBID 1046; ->] Jun 27 13:35:57 TNT 1/1: [1/1/5/20] Far End Hung Up Reported as problem to local Telco, but everything seemed ok. The PRIs are at about 60% of use when I see that, but I cant be sure this happens because of that. (There aint more concurrency normally). There are modems available, this happens equally with ISDN and analog connections. Hoped someone could just say "I know what's happening", or could give me a clue. Tried with netif debug command, but it seems so low-level debug, as I was seeing assembly and tried to debug a C program :) Thanks for your time. On the TNT, can you issue the avm command? I noticed that tons of the modems were on the pending 195 list. Once the modems were on this list, the max wouldn't route calls to them, instead it routed calls to the HDLC controller and you would hear a solid tone. This turned out to be one bad trunk at the Central office that kept fouling up calls. The max then decided that these modems might be bad and put them on this list. I hope this helps. -Daniel P.S. Symptoms: Even with enough modems available, TNT kept on giving 'Call rejected, no ports available' and 'Far End Hung Up' messages. Had two modem cards, and the second one seemed as reluctant to accept more than a certain number of connections. Problem: There were digital call routing configured, but not voice calls. This is a dump of what I have right now (already fixed) in that modem card (which is at slot 5): admin> get call-route {{{1 5 0}0}0} [in CALL-ROUTE/{ { { shelf-1 slot-5 0 } 0 } 0 }] index* = { { { shelf-1 slot-5 0 } 0 } 0 } trunk-group = 0 phone-number = "" preferred-source = { { any-shelf any-slot 0 } 0 } call-route-type = voice-call-type ^--- this one was erroneously set to trunk-call-type or the like admin> get call-route {{{1 5 0}0}1} [in CALL-ROUTE/{ { { shelf-1 slot-5 0 } 0 } 1 }] index* = { { { shelf-1 slot-5 0 } 0 } 1 } trunk-group = 0 phone-number = "" preferred-source = { { any-shelf any-slot 0 } 0 } call-route-type = digital-call-type This way, only digital calls were accepted by this modem card. When the other card was full (or analogs or any type), only more digital calls could enter. Thanks to all the people that helped me. Are you referring to the dongle on the ethernet-3 card? That's the only card that requires a dongle because of its stupid design. Other TNT cards do not require any dongle because they have the correct pinout. If you are using a MAX dongle, then I'm 100% sure you don't need it: you probably have a mismatch that gets masked by the dongle. Dongle or no dongle, the thing to remember is that the 100 MB ports on the 4/1-ether-card and 4-ether2-card cards do not autonegotiate half/full duplex. This is due to how the signalling works during autonegotiation and due to the particular PHY chips used in those cards. The 10/100 option may be negotiated correctly but the half/full duplex part will not be negotiated. When using these cards, switches that attempt to autonegotiate half/full duplex will fail and usually drop to half-duplex because it is safest. If you have a 4/1-ether-card or a 4ether2-card and experience intermittent traffic disruptions on your 100MB link, check first that both sides agree on all settings (10/100, half/full). If the switch can only autonegotiate (ie, it can't be configured to a fix setting), then set your TNT for _half_ duplex. -J ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: rte-ascend-unsubscribe@listserv.real-time.com For additional commands, e-mail: rte-ascend-help@listserv.real-time.com From max_and_tnt at hotmail.com Wed Jun 28 12:23:55 2000 From: max_and_tnt at hotmail.com (Joe Max) Date: Tue Jan 18 13:58:28 2005 Subject: [Ascend] Re: (ASCEND) MaxTnT 7.0.3 Hangs automaticaly. Carrier loss may happen for a variety of reasons and many of them are perfectly normal disconnects. You get d=11 if the user has call-waiting and someone calls him while online. This was a killer until we knew to tell those users to turn off call waiting. It may also happen if there is noise on the line and the modems can't retrain in time. You need to take a look at the progress codes to see where are the calls getting stuck. Good luck (you will need it), -J >From: Rick Eldridge > >We are having many complaints about unwanted disconnects on our TNT. The >disconnect cause code is 11.
