Hi,

I've noticed that we get failed connections with the following
characteristics from the syslog, when I see something like this I just get
them to go into the Network Settings in the Control Panel and Disable WINS
which 99% of the time works. I'm not sure if it's the fact you have to
reboot which fixes it or actually changes something to make it work.

But this time this person also has a connection to OzEmail which was
dialing in fine.

Does anyone know of a reason why this happens, is it worth upgrading the
TAOS? (Max6000 7.2.3)

Dear Fellows,

I have a strange problem in My MaxTnT. Normally its works fine but
some time its just stop responding there is no way to enter in it except
consol and the dialup connection through which you are connected. I have
look a lot and find that its 100MB slot stop responding where as everything
is fine.

fsck is fine

fatal command gave no error

software is checked ok and reload many times.

is there DOS or any denial of service known for MaxTnT which make stop
responding it Ethernet port as when we change to the normal 10MB port which
comes in Controller card its starts work fine. and if you shift back the
things to 100MB after some times its ok again.

Its really very confusing. any help will be appreciated.

Hello.. Tried searching for info in our manuals (and several PDFs),
but no luck.

We have a TNT (TAOS 7.2.3), with an 8e1-card with 6 PRIs connected.
Everything works fine, but sometimes I get these errors:

Jun 27 13:35:57
TNT 1/17: [1/1/5/20] Call rejected, no ports available,
          [voice] <numbr> -> <numbr> [MBID 1046; <numbr>-><numbr>]

Jun 27 13:35:57
TNT 1/1: [1/1/5/20] Far End Hung Up

Reported as problem to local Telco, but everything seemed ok. The PRIs
are at about 60% of use when I see that, but I cant be sure this
happens because of that. (There aint more concurrency normally).

There are modems available, this happens equally with ISDN and analog
connections.

Hoped someone could just say "I know what's happening", or could give me
a clue. Tried with netif debug command, but it seems so low-level debug,
as I was seeing assembly and tried to debug a C program :)

Thanks for your time.
Jonathan.

No, the dongle is only needed on the MAX6000. Other devices have the correct

I didnt find avm command in the common prompt, nor in the card slot
menu.

I see a lot of available modems, but most of them on the second csmx
card. Hmmm... I wonder if this has something to do, but there're no
suspect nor faulty modems.

I guess I'm gonna send a spare csmx card to see if that's the problem.

I had this problem too, but on the 6096. On the TNT, can you issue the avm
command? I noticed that tons of the modems were on the pending 195 list.
Once the modems were on this list, the max wouldn't route calls to them,
instead it routed calls to the HDLC controller and you would hear a solid
tone. This turned out to be one bad trunk at the Central office that kept
fouling up calls. The max then decided that these modems might be bad and
put them on this list.

I hope this helps.

-Daniel

P.S. Feel free to call me if you like.

Make sure that the switch or hub that you connect the TNT to is set to match
exactly the settings of the TNT regarding half/full-duplex.
If you have a 4/1-ether-card or a ether2-card, the 100BT port will not
auto-negotiate. So, if the switch is set for autonegotiation, every few
minutes, the link will be lost for up to 30 seconds and the TNT will not be
able to talk during that time.

No, the dongle is only needed on the MAX6000. Other devices have the correct
pinout.

Subject: (ASCEND) Far End Hung Up

Hello.. Tried searching for info in our manuals (and several PDFs),
but no luck.

We have a TNT (TAOS 7.2.3), with an 8e1-card with 6 PRIs connected.
Everything works fine, but sometimes I get these errors:

Jun 27 13:35:57
TNT 1/17: [1/1/5/20] Call rejected, no ports available,
          [voice] <numbr> -> <numbr> [MBID 1046; <numbr>-><numbr>]

Jonathan.
