We have a Max1800 (MX-SL-12MOD-S56) that we want to use for dialup 
access.  We bought it over 2 years ago and just recently got it 
talking to our Fujitsu PBX over the BRI interface.  When dialing into 
it from a Supra 288 external modem, I see the RT (retrain) indication 
on the Supra frequently.  The retrain usually take 20-40 seconds and 
then the connection may be OK for anywhere from 15 to 100 seconds.

Calling from a different modem (internal, no display to see whats 
going on) there are long pauses which could be retraining also.

The Max is running fbk.m18 version 7.2.3.
ATI3 to the modem says V2.098-K56_DLP_CSM
ATI6 says RC56DPF L8565A Rev 47.22/47.22

Would a new version of software help any?  Are there any setting on 
the Ascend that might cause this?
