Hi Clint, maybe one of your dialin-users got his TCP/IP-settings wrong and does assign that IP to his dialup-interface. You should check your MAX not to allow this. If you set Ethernet/ Mod Config/ WAN options/ Pool only=Yes this will be prohibited, so that any user assigning an IP to himself will trigger "LAN security error" instead of beeing logged in. regards, Ralf -----Original Message----- From: Clint Wiley <cwiley at nfis.com> Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 07:42:35 -0500 (EST) Subject: (ASCEND) route pick up Hi. I just put a new Max 6069 into service and I have a problem where it picks up an incorrect route to a DNS/mail server. I have to delete the route, and it will run fine for a few hours. The route looks like this: 206.151.91.4/32 206.151.91.4 wan77 The box is not running rip. The IP and subnet of both the max and default gateway are correct. The DNS server in question is two hops away, like so: traceroute to 206.151.91.4 (206.151.91.4), 30 hops max, 0 byte packets 1 (206.151.91.97) 10 ms 0 ms 0 ms 2 (206.151.91.89) 10 ms 10 ms 0 ms 3 (206.151.91.4) 10 ms 10 ms 10 ms ascend% Any idea where this route could be picked up?
