1. Have a terminal connected to s0 with a null modem cable and dip switch 1 raised. 2. Login as !root and enter the Password 'override'. This will return a 16-character challenge. 3. Send an email to "override at ra.lucent.com" with only the challenge string in the body of the email. 4. Use the 'set password' command followed by the password of your choice to change the !root password. Make sure to disable any signature files on your email client before sending the email.
