I am having some problems with a MAX TNT that seems to have Lucent TAC
baffled and it definitely has me tied in knots.  The symptoms started
Tuesday morning at 8:40am cst.  For some reason the fault light on the ATM
DS-3 module would start flashing for about 60 seconds and then go on solid
and the card would reboot.  This would occur every 2-5 minutes.  The only
errors that I saw were excessive fbit errors, but I would only see the
errors when the fault light would start flashing.  I had a T-berd hooked to
the loop and would only see framing errors on the link when the fault light
flashed.  To isolate the problem I put a hard loop on at the ATM Switch and
the port on the ATM switch stayed green.  I did the same on the TNT and saw
the same symptoms (fault light and rebooting).  We also noticed after
reconnecting this circuit that latency was very high across the link all of
the time (100-400 ms).  We pulled all of the cards out of the chassis with
the exception of the control card, a channelized DS-3 module, and the ATM
DS-3 module.  Still saw the same symptoms.  Replaced the ATM DS-3 module
with a known good module and still saw the same symptoms.  Did the same with
the Channelized module with the same results...  Replaced the Control Module
with new software and TFTP'd configuration and got the same symptoms.  Only
thing left was the chassis so we replaced it and got the same symptoms.
So....  With a totally new device and new software and config we were seeing
the same issue.  We ended up also rebuilding our Channelized DS-3 on another
High Speed port off of the DCS and still got the same symptoms.  We also
rebuilt the ATM DS-3 link to 2 different ports on two different ATM switches
and got the same symptoms.

At this point the only thing that was still the same was the configuration
and the software which was pretty old (7.2.3).  We decided to upgrade the
software to 8.0.5 and we got similiar symptoms (fault light would no longer
flash...  It would just go on solid and reboot).

Does anyone have any ideas?  I'm pretty desperate to figure this out...
