I was able to get the unit to recognize the 56k modems by reloading the OS in Nindy mode. On the other issue... The model number is MXHP-4T1, that's not a 4002 is it? So, is there any way I can check the first 2 wan ports or force them back to an active state? Or am I just worrying about nothing as I only plan on putting 48 modems in this anyway. Make sure you have a 56k load installed, this is indicated by a 'k' in the firmware file name. Recommend the latest release of ftik.m40 (depending on the features you need). For the other, if it was originally a 4002, it may have been rehashed to enable wan 3 and 4 due to damage to wan ports 1 or 2 (I once had a 4002 with all 4 ports enabled, but wan2 was damaged). I have a used Ascend Max 4000 that I bought used from a friend's ex-boss who runs an ISP. It came with (3) MX-SL-16MOD-S56 modules. When I received it, it booted fine, and I was able to serial console into it with no problems. I put it into the rack w/ all of the other routers and plugged the ISDN connection into it and began configuring it, then got called away to another project. It stayed there powered up for about a month, when I came back to it. It now will not boot if any of the 16MOD modules are plugged in. If I remove them, it boots fine. The documentation is somewhat lacking for troubleshooting this device. I'm a Cisco CCNA and usually can figure most anything out, but I can't get a handle on this one. Any ideas? Make sure you have a 56k load installed, this is indicated by a 'k' in the firmware file name. Recommend the latest release of ftik.m40 (depending on the features you need). For the other, if it was originally a 4002, it may have been rehashed to enable wan 3 and 4 due to damage to wan ports 1 or 2 (I once had a 4002 with all 4 ports enabled, but wan2 was damaged). The purpose of my mail is that I am Mr Frank Stevens, the first son of Dr. Dennis Stevens, who was recently murdered in the land dispute in Zimbabwe? I am writing from Holland (The Netherlands), where I am currently based as political asylum seeker. Before the death of my farther, he took me to Amsterdam in Holland to deposit the sum of (US$12.5M) Eighteen million, five hundred thousand United States Dollars only, in a private Security and Finance Company. May be he for-saw the looming danger in Zimbabwe? This money was put in a box as gemstones before it was deposited to avoid much tax and demurrage from the Security Company. This money was initially meant to purchase new machines and chemicals for the farms and also to establish a new farm in Swaziland. The land problem came when the government of Zimbabwe under the leadership of President Robert Mugabe, introduced a new land use decree/act that, affected a lot of rich white farmers and some few blacks. This resulted to the mob action and killings by Zimbabwe war Veterans and some Lunatics in society, so to say. Infact, a lot of people were killed in this land reform act, including my father. It is against this back-ground that I consulted with my family to transfer this money out of Holland to a foreign account since I am now staying in Holland and the Netherlands law, forbids a refugee (asylum seekers) to have such money in an account. I am therefore saddled with the responsibility by my family to seek for a genuine person with foreign account to handle this transaction. I am faced with the dilemma of investing this amount of money in the Netherlands because; I will not like to go through the same experience in future since both countries have similar history. Moreover, the Netherlands foreign exchange does not allow such investment from asylum seekers. I must let you know that this transaction is risk free. If you accept to assist me and my family, you will need to come to Amsterdam. The Netherlands to open ?a non resident account? which will aid us in the transfer of the money into any account you will provide. This money can be meant for investment purpose in any lucrative business of your choice. I have two options of offers for your assistance. You may go into partnership with me in any business you decides to invest the money on with the shearing of the profit Carefully spelt out if agreed upon, or you may decide to have 20% of the total sum, 70% will be for me and my family and the remaining 10% will be set aside for un-foreseen expenses that may be incurred in the cause of pursuing this transaction to successful end. You may contact me on the above media so that I know what your decision is, about this proposal. Please note that your field of specialization is not a hindrance to this transaction. Thanks for your anticipated co-operations. Frank Stevens. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Set your terminal to 9600/8/N/1, and off you go. If you don't get any love, you'll probably have to reset it with some dumb jumper inside to get to NINDY interface, but I couldn't even begin to tell you which one on that particular device. BANQUE INTERNATIONALE DU ABIDJAN ABIDJAN, COTE D,IVOIRE Dear friend. With due respect and huminity, I write to you this proposal.I am the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department of Banque Internationale du Abidjan . I am writing following the impressive information about you through one of my friends who run a consultancy firm in your country. He assured me of your capability and reliability to champion this businees opportunity. In my department, we discovered an abandoned sum of U.S$17m US dollars (seventeen millionUS dollars) . In an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his entire family in november 1997 in a plane crash. Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come forward and claim his money because we cannot release it unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines and policies but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claims. It is therefore upon this discovery that I and other officials in my department now decided to make this businness proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming forth and we don?t want this money to go into the Bank treasury as unclaimed Bill. According to our Banking policies and guideline here which stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after five years, the money will automatically be transfered into the Bank treasury as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner an Ivorian, that someone from ivory coast here cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner. We agree will be for you as foreign partner, in respect to the provision of a foreign account, 10 %will be for reimbursement of any expenses incured during the curse of the transaction and 65 % would be for me and my colleagues. There after I and my colleagues will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentages indicated. Therefore to enable the immediate trnansfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relation or next of kin of the deceased indicating your bank name, your bank account number, your private telephone and fax number for easier and effective communication and location where the money will be remitted . Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer .You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter. Trusting to hear from you immediately.
