Here is an old posting from the Ascend Archive. This should help you. Be sure to use 57600 bps Regards Mark On Tue, 3 Mar 1998, Jake Messinger wrote: > Is there any way to override the password in an Ascend max? This worked for me on a MAX 4000: - open the screws at left+right side of chassis - lift the front panel, attention to the LEDs! - lift the upper chassis, this might be not very easy - Jumper P3 is opened and must be closed for the reset - attach terminal to serial port, 57600 bps - power on MAX - MAX prompts you with "=>" -> that means it is in NINDY mode - type "DF" for "download file" - MAX says "CK CK CK" for X-modem beeing ready - upload a working MAX software release with your terminal software using x-modem. meanwhile, drink a coffee or go into church and pray that your MAX will come up again after this procedure... - if upload is finished: power off MAX, open jumper P3, power on MAX - pray pray pray - MAX should come up and can be configured via the terminal at the serial port (it has lost ALL its configuration!)
