Just show your CTO how much it will cost to upgrade software, memory, and
maintain annual licenses for around 230 devices and he may change his mind.
;-).... Unless you are going to implement V.92 or need some kind valuable
bug fix.

Subject: (ASCEND) Software version (9.1)

Our CTO has been convinced by Lucent that we should move every
MaxTNT, DSLTNT, and Max20 that we have up to the latest version of
the 9.1 branch (Currently around 230 devices.)

Does anybody have any experience with this? I've generally been
running TNTs on 7.2.3 and Max20s on 8.0.3 due to problems with OSPF
on the 7 branch.

They've also told him that running a Max20 on a different software
version from the TNT it is bachauled to will cause problems. That
doesn't make much sense to me, aren't they basically two different
operating systems?

Trying to do damage control and any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Denny
