It's had been up and running for about 3 years now with no problems, about a month ago problems started occuring with the box. The problem comes and goes at wierd time (could be a day in between / could be a week) Here is the problem; All of the sudden, every user trying to login will result in a LAN Security error, and it looks like the box is only sending STOP records to the livingston radius server. If I reboot the box, users can login again.. If I login to the box and do a Null radius request, and wait for it to time out (radauth "" "") it seems to clear the problem too. (While the problem is occuring, the radauth command actually functions and successfully authenticates). I've tried to replace the 48 port modem card, (once when I did a radauth from the slot card itself, the whole box reset.. So i figured it was worth trying to change out). Has anyone ever seen a problem like this occur? I've got 8 fully populated TNT's running a mixture of the 96 modem and 48 modem madd cards on TAOS 9.0.6 that are having some CCR problems. All 8 are taking calls from my phone switch with isdn call types on DS3 lines but my CCR's are varying wildly from chassis to chassis. The configs are identical on each chassis as well. Right now I'm looking for either debug/diagnostic command advice to help me isolate the problem or possibly an experienced suggestion as to what would cause this problem. The only possible correlation I can find in the problem is the number of suspect modems that I'm seeing on the chassis's. Also, anyone know what the parameters are for suspect modems? And, does TAOS 9.0.6 have a command that will allow you to look at causes (or any information) on short calls? I've got quite a few questions at this point and the admin guides from Lucent aren't very informative. thanks in advance gregc@mpinet.net From AlbanoBatista at mec.gov.br Tue Jun 4 08:25:35 2002 From: AlbanoBatista at mec.gov.br (Albano Vilela Batista) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:08 2005 Subject: [Ascend] (ASCEND) placa de faz modem Message-ID: <10A44273E579DE429B2F1FB17599A620728D61@mecsrv08.mec.gov.br> Preciso do drive modem rcv 288 dpi r6682-24 Grato ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com Archives: http://www.nexial.com/mailinglists/ From max_and_tnt at hotmail.com Tue Jun 4 13:43:49 2002 From: max_and_tnt at hotmail.com (Joe Max) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:08 2005 Subject: [Ascend] Re: (ASCEND) LAN security error, username [MBID 21] Message-ID: There is a well-known incompatibility in the encoding of the Password attribute with the RFC if you use auth-radius-compat = old-ascend. Changing to vendor-specific will indeed address this issue, however you must make sure that you update your dictionaries and client-types to use Ascend-VSA, as old vendor extended attributes of value 92 or greater will no longer applied unless they are encapsulated within the vendor-specific attribute of type 26. I suggest shying away from the 16-bit-vendor-specific option on the TNTs and choose the RFC-compliant vendor-specific choice instead. -Nick # If you got two copies, I apologize. They released new builds for most of their products to deal with some sort of DoS vulnerability (the release notes are vague). Each of the new builds that I noticed had the version incremented by 2. One thing to be careful of is that some of the attributes and some of the enumerations have changed between versions of TAOS (Attribute 20 [I think] comes to mind switched from a int to string in one version). I hit a few of these with the last dictionary update I did for NavisRadius. Most of the pipe's do nat for the customer and only a few actually need a static ip address. my question is - is there a way to setup the dslpipe so it connects and just pulls an ip from the dial-up pool? i have other users who have an internal xpeed pci card and that is how they connect (i setup a static profile, but left the ip address 0.0.0.0 and they just get one from the pool). will this work or should i just get ready to go out and change everyone's ip address. -- Chad Whitten neXband Communications cwhitten@nexband.com ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com Archives: http://www.nexial.com/mailinglists/ From rovxqeez at kjgkhvg.com.bungi.com Sun Jun 9 02:20:34 2002 From: rovxqeez at kjgkhvg.com.bungi.com (Formularz) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:10 2005 Subject: [Ascend] (ASCEND) what the hell? 1441 Message-ID: <200206090720.JAA27988@bluebox.ikp.pl> body: http://www.thepornlottery.com/bnr/3020069620 <- you have won free porn! never pay again!!! just copy your special url into the browser to claim yours! 3008 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com Archives: http://www.nexial.com/mailinglists/ From freetravel14 at qwest.net Mon Jun 10 05:30:27 2002 From: freetravel14 at qwest.net (freetravel14@qwest.net) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:10 2005 Subject: [Ascend] (ASCEND) FREE Vacation Certificate...17349 Message-ID: <000055ec3eba$00004ca5$00005333@mail7.uswest.net> Hotels Etc. is giving away 10,000 of our $495 Travel Packages FREE, to help the USA in the promotion of the travel business. The TNT debug will walk you through every stage of connection. This information (last successful stage) is also present in radius accounting and syslog, which if properly used by properly trained staff, can drastically cut down on the time spent on support calls. We recently replaced 14 AS5248s with a TNT with the channelized T3 card and the v3 56k modem cards. I am having a HELL of a time trying to get the system to do my bidding. Documentation seems to be scarce and spotty, but that is probably only because I haven't figured out the best search terms yet. :-) Basic setup: 4 NFAS groups with 7 PRIs in each. D channel on first interface in each group. Groups numbered 0-3, with interfaces numbered 0-6. Switch type is nat-isdn-2-pri. At any rate I have a number of current problems I would appreciate any help with. - when I reboot the system, the DS3 and all B and D channels come up. The unit answers calls, but anywhere from 5 to 35 minutes later the ds3 falls down. This sounds like clock slip to me but I can't configure the DS3 clock, only the T1 clocks. They're all set to eligable and mid-priority, although I have changed PRI #1 to high priority to see if that helped. It didn't. :-( - How does one set up a modem pool that spans three class Cs? I seem to only be able to assign one ip pool to the answer-defaults, but I dont' want to include the .0 or .255 of address since win9x seems to have trouble with these IPs. - Is the TNT able to be a Radius server as well as client? I seem to be able to configure both and I'm a little confused as to which way it is to be "seen" (from TNT or from network) These are the biggies. I've attached what I've been able to figure out so far with the configuration. I appreciate any help and thank you all in advance for your thoughts. Message-ID: <007501c21910$a9a0bd10$f60aa8c0@leadmon.net> I am trying to get ISDN Data over Voice (DOSBS) working on my Max-TNT here, and I must be reading something wrong as I think this call-route type should work. Here is what I have: [in CALL-ROUTE/{ { { shelf-1 any-slot 0 } 0 } 0 }] index* = { { { shelf-1 any-slot 0 } 0 } 0 } trunk-group = 0 phone-number = 555-1212 preferred-source = { { any-shelf any-slot 0 } 0 } call-route-type = digital-call-type Now if I am correct, if a user calls 555-1212, the above route should make the TNT pass the call off to an HDLC port as a digital call. Yet if I do the above and call the TNT, I get a modem, so am getting an analog pathway. If I look as my syslog info, it does show the incoming DNIS info, so it should easily be able to route a call based on dialed number. Can anyone give me any pointers on this, or some example that might help me get this straight. This file is a P.I.T.A. - It grows and grows to enormous size if not manually rotated (unless I am unaware of something that will enable log rotation of this file), which is the first lame thing about it. The other thing is that the information passed to this file is either too detailed or not detailed enough. There is no happy medium. I am trying to use this file as a basic call log to spare the network the traffic of enabling call logging (as well as sparing the MAXen the event table size, etc, in memory since there has been no memory added to them). For this purpose I was hoping to hack something up quickly that would pull in these files as they are and pull out the important info (such as Lan session up/down times, the IP address assigned, call duration, CID info, etc. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience to share in this general direction? Set the ip address of the tftp Server snmpset tnt write .1.3.6.1.4.1.529.9.5.3.0 a 100.100.100.100 Set the filename for the tnt to save snmpset tnt write .1.3.6.1.4.1.529.9.5.4.0 s tnt-config set the save command. snmpset tnt write .1.3.6.1.4.1.529.9.5.1.0 i 3 --------------------------------- It appeared to work flawlessly from my allowed server but I still could not log-in as admin. I power cycled the tnt to reload the config and I still could not log-in as admin. from my saved TNT config file - password changed - the rest is accurate ; saving profiles of type USER new USER set name = admin set password = password set allow-termserv = yes set allow-system = yes set allow-diagnostic = yes set allow-update = yes set allow-password = yes set allow-code = yes set idle-logout = 60 set log-display-level = error write -f ; new USER set name = default write -f Any advice would be appreciated. Do I have to nindy this thing? Is there a bug in 10.0.0 that does not allow admin rights? Thanks all for the ideas and tips. SNMP write and a working tftp server were critical. I struggled with SNMP dumps and successfully got that and the tftp server on my allowed address working yesterday. I found out after downloading my config that the admin password was properly configured. I edited the config to add another super user and uploaded the new config to the tnt. I still could not get in but it gave me some good feedback. It gave me a message something like "trying remote authentication" and then timed out. A big DUH went off in my mind. Why was this trying remote authentication for the admin? I had been tweaking the EXTERNAL-AUTH configuration early one morning and had changed cli-user-auth from 'local-then-external' to 'external-only' (based on some docs that said this would speed radius authentication up and not really thinking clearly at 3:00am). To repair the damage I edited the config and added 'set cli-user-auth = local-then-external' then uploaded with snmp. Tom At 08:51 AM 6/22/02 -0500, you wrote: >Help. The other You may want to try logrotate, which is very popular on Linux environments (if you are running linux, chances are that you have it installed and running already, try 'man logrotate'). For solaris, there is a port in http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/solaris/RPMS/usparc/Solaris2.5.1/logrotate-solaris-2.3-4.usparc.html. For this to run, I think you need rpm running, however. >thing is that the information passed to this file is either too detailed or >not detailed enough. There is no happy medium. Typically syslog files are very regular in their structure, so this seldom is a big deal to build. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com Archives: http://www.nexial.com/mailinglists/ From paul.oh at surplusglobal.com Tue Jun 25 00:11:15 2002 From: paul.oh at surplusglobal.com (Paul Oh) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:12 2005 Subject: [Ascend] WTS: Lucent MAX TNT with 960 DSP Ports Message-ID: <000801c21c06$bb7feda0$93a167d2@paul.ohsurplusglobal.com> Hi List, Ready To Ship: 1 (TNT-2AC-H) High Power Chassis 1 (TNT-SP-SC) Shelf Controller, one 32MB DRAM, one 8MB Flash. 1 (TNT-SL-E100-V-C) Ethernet card 10 (APX8-SL-96DSP) Cards 4 (TNT-SL-CE1) E1 Card 2 (TNT-DC-H DC) Power supply All Excellent Condition 45 days warranty - Parts Replacement 10units - Total U$220,000 including shipping by DHL Thanks Paul Oh SurplusGLOBAL, Inc. Just search eBay for "max > tnt" and check the completed auctions. That's even too dear. We're buying them in onsies for USD$4500 apiece. That's the high power backplane, dual 48VDC supplies, qty 14 48-port modem cards (672 ports), quad ethernet and DS3 input. That's under $7/port which is quite a deal considering we were paying over $12/port with our AS5248s before we blew a mux and decided it was cheaper to buy a tnt and learn how to configure the damn thing than it was to repair the DS3 mux. There are some things I miss about the Ciscos but the Max TNTs have some amazing features hidden away in MIBs. :-) Regards, Andrew From isp at sphyrna.com Tue Jun 25 02:43:00 2002 From: isp at sphyrna.com (Sphyrna Inc) Date: Tue Jan 18 14:02:13 2005 Subject: [Ascend] WTS: Lucent MAX TNT with 960 DSP Ports References: Message-ID: <004701c21c1b$eeaff980$1eaa2cc7@sphyrna.com> Steep? Now I'm faced with an IP Route problem, I assign the pool I want to use but when the users get the IP they can't get out to the internet. I resolved it by addding routes on the router, is this the only way? Or is there anything else I can do? I currently have the "default" profile on IP-route and it looks like this: [in IP-ROUTE/default] name* = default dest-address = 0.0.0.0/0 gateway-address = 200.50.30.1 metric = 1 cost = 1 preference = 60 third-party = no ase-type = type-1 ase-tag = c0:00:00:00 private-route = yes active-route = yes ase7-adv = N/A vrouter = "" inter-vrouter = "" Thanks in advance, Jose F. It appears not to work for video, at least 7.3.4, but I was hoping someone else out there could validate that. That being said, it does not work through NAT because the remote machine needs to be able to establish a connection back to the netmeeting requestor. I.E. both machines need the ability to establish connections to each other, and thus the machine behind the NAT server is SOL. Several people have developed Netmeeting proxy servers that can help, but last time I checked none of them ran on the Pipeline.
