You can see from my outgoing header that the message is dated October 15 and was posted (globally) on November 11th. I don't think my connection is THAT slow or our email server is causing the problem. Anything's possible, but I send/receive e-mails all over the world, everyday...all day. I never have to wait for more than a few seconds at the most. Anyway, I just wanted to throw it "out there" and see if anyone else was having the same experience. If so, I hope the feedback can be used to improve things, if needed. I enjoy this list and would like to contribute to it in any way. Thanks for your response Dennis. I have found this list to be the slowest list of some 10 or so that I subscribe to, resulting in sometimes difficult discussions on this list. Even the headers of the letter from your posting shows that bungi.com held it for nearly 10 minutes before sending it to my mail server, which has very good connectivity and availablity. Often it takes 30 minutes or an hour to see my own postings to this list, which always leave my mail server with a few seconds of sending. I have not, however, seen any messages being sent after extremely long periods, such as a month delay. FWIW, I'm sending this posting at 13:18 CST Dennis Duval ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -----Original Message----- From: DPascarella at solunet.com [mailto:DPascarella at solunet.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 4:56 PM To: deckman at esisoft.us; ascend-users at bungi.com Subject: RE: [Ascend] Re: (ASCEND) Pipeline 130 Also, I believe that when you enable IP filters, there is an implicit deny just like a Cisco ACL. So if you are blocking specific traffic only (telnet,FTP), make sure to add a 'forward any' at the end. If you are just wanting to allow specific traffic only (WWW,ARP), than do not add the 'forward any' filter.
