As long is you keep it nice and cool...... otherwise, it's "uh, oops!"  (;^])

I still like nylon rod - - if you want grounding, use aluminum rod or a
grounding wire.

Skip the Duct tape, and use hot glue sticks, You can cut them to any length
you need and even use a small screw to secure them......
