I will beg to differ on IBM's customer service. The one experience I had with them with a bad drive, was with a drive that was nearly out of warranty (3 years old). I called them up and told them that I was getting hoards of errors while running mke2fs and they agreed to send me a new drive. The drive arrived within two days with a prepaid shipping label to return the old one. I consider that good customer service.
