My understanding was the problem was not that the kernel couldnt reach the memory, but that the kernel was not keeping proper track of the memory, and that AGP and System memory could potentially overlap, and when it did, bad things happened. I also am not an expert, so if anyone really understands what is going on, and can explain it in simple terms, I am sure many would aprechiate it. Also, setting mem=nopentium should resolve the problem, because it limits the memory page sizes.. it just gives you a performance hit. I have done this, and am still having the problems.
