I invoke mutt (sometimes; I'm still on the fence between staying with Xemacs VM and switching to mutt) using Xemacs to compose my messages. All my email sent that way seems to go out as a text/plain attachment. I haven't heard of anyone being unable to read it, though, including Outlook users. R
