And how is this different in windows? you still have to be an 
administrator to install hardware and software in windows (recent 
versions win95+ did not have "user" accounts)

now i understand that a lot of companies and users simply grant the user 
accounts administrator priviledges, but if anything, this is a weakness in 
windows now linux.
