I have no idea what famd is. You probably don't need any inetd services
running. You should either turn inetd off, or at least edit
/etc/inetd.conf and comment out, well, everything. So basically you can
copy inted.conf to a backup file and just make an empty one.

You don't need lpd if you're not printing anything.

You don't need portmap/rpc.whatever if you're not serving NFS.


Turn 'em all off! (:
