Thanks to Mike and Karl for your help with this!!! I've wasted a lot of time with this. The problem was with the source package I downloaded (LiS 2.16.9). It 's a busted distribution. I finally ran across this while googling. I botched the creation of this file. Pick up LiS-2.16.10 (now available). It has this fixed.
