This may be true of Apache 1.3, but 2.0 can take advantage of Unix
threading [1] [2]. Apache for Windows has always been multithreaded
[3].

The Apache 1.3 "Using Apache With Microsoft Windows" documentation [4]
says "Warning: Apache on NT has not yet been optimized for performance",
and requests that comparative reviews of webserver performance be done
on a Unix platform. The equivalent Apache 2.0 documentation [5] omits
this warning.
