Whack it up on your own.

Routers, Switches: Famous Auto Race Tracks (taledaga, daytona, etc.)
Bridges: Famous Bridges, of course (brooklyn, goldengate, london)
  Windoze Servers: Deserts (sahara, arizona)
  Linux Servers: Desserts (banannasplit, parfait)

If you really want a boring name standard:

Boring is good when you have a pile of equipment and would like to know
something useful about it at a glance.

Admin: "Arizona is unreachable because taledaga borked."
User: "How come I can't log into the database?"
Admin: "I just told you the database server is unreachable."

Me has no time for admins of this ilk.

  Routers, Switches: rtr-location, sw-location
  Bridges: br-location

Name locations for closets, buildings, or cities (depending on what your
topology is).
