the ISO was probably created using the image in isolinux/ on the slack-9 tree. that's how i made my ISO, you can actually get the entire gnome, kde (but not kdei) and the kernel source on the same cd but it's a bit over 700mb so you have to overburn the disc. i've been running slackware 9.0 on my desktop since about monday and i've been very impressed with it so far.
