Hey all, Seeing as the installfest is fast approaching, I'm trying to decide what distro I want to install, I'm sure this is always a popular question, but I'm hoping for some insight. I tried installing mandrake 9.1 and found that it wiped out my windoze partition (well didn't wipe it out, but the info went bye bye? the MBR mighta gotten messed up), luckily it was a fresh install of windoze with no information I'd be missing. So I'm reformatting the drive, reinstalling windoze and all. Needless to say, unless I burned a bad copy of mandrake, I'm not overly enthused to try that route again (I've installed older versions of mandrake in the past and ever subsequent install has gotten to be more of a hassel, I have no idea why). So, my choices are, try to install Mandrake again, or Go with either Suse or RedHat (their current versions). I'm looking for whatever one works good with a dual boot scenario, and has the best features for a guy that's still learning the ropes, but isn't entirely new to the world of linux. It's not that I'm really unhappy with mandrake either, perhaps having someone give me a hand with the install would be helpful even. Anyways, anyone have any suggestions for me? Or perhaps I can get most of this answered right at the installfest? Thanks, Joel __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
