It will be > something like /dev/hda1. Do you have your root password? When you get the prompt "Type root password or ctl-D" enter the password. at the prompt type df. That will list your files systems. write down each one and run "fsck /dev/hdXX" for each of your file systems. Hopefully that will fix your problem and you'll be done.
