Surely no company will admit that their machine can be permanently damaged by a virus. Regardless of the true nature of their warranty, I'd suggest avoiding the Compaq brand due to their tendency to make hardware slightly different than others such that they have/had a special version of MS Windows for their computers. Stay away from Compaq in the future.
