VMWare beta 4.5 works with 2.6 kernels just fine, both as host and 
client. I have been running 2.6.3 kernel and VMWare 4.5 betas for a 
little while now and I havent had any problems.

If your a customer you have access to the betas. I get an email that 
tells me how to get them.
