My bloggy friends say good things about Bloxsom, but I don't have any personal experience. Simple perl script to do everything. Blog posts are simple files in the filesystem (no need for funky database). OTOH, I suspect that means you write HTML. OTOOH, I've set up a tiki that has blogs, but I think this wiki syntax is really putrid. Actually seems far less predictable in terms of what you type and what you get than HTML....
