Hey, Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to linux, I've just put linux on my computer after getting incredibly bored with the capabilities or lack there of of Winblows. I'm definitely computer literate and I'm definitely willing to learn but as of now, my computer is fairly useless and I can't get much to work. I'm having tons of problems with my sound, I can get certain system like sounds such as error beeps when I do something wrong, or when I log onto Gnome, but it wont let me hear any sounds. I'm still learning about whats needed to hear my mp3, someone said there's a codec for playing mp3's in xmms? Anyhow, I have way too many questions to begin asking them all here and I really don't know where to start so I'm looking forward to an installfest, and perhaps someone would be willing to show me how to compile and do a few other things while we're at it too? Installation was cake, the hard part is getting everything to work right. If anyone would be willing to show me a few things I'd totally appreciate it. ~Nik _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota Help beta test TCLUG's potential new home: http://plone.mn-linux.org Got pictures for TCLUG?
