Now that you mention it, Isaac, I don't think there is a reason to. The default setting on the device is "automatic", so XP chooses MTP instead of MSC. I should be able to change the setting to MSC ( http://service.real.com/rhapsody/support.html?section=SansaRTG) and not worry about the libmtp driver.
