Just the interface to the ROMs is a proprietary hardware and software design by itself. Probably has some patent coverage as well. Clear case of substantial plagiarism in both hardware and software, unless by agreement and marked as such. .. and, as noted, probably will require new FCC test, certification, approval, etc. Only way around all that is to sell as a DIY kit.
