Aren't these > real possibilities? > Yup. Take a look at "alien" (http://kitenet.net/~joey/code/alien), which converts packages between different formats (e.g., deb -> rpm). I'd advise a fair amount of caution, but it works reasonably well if you're in a pinch. sm
