Have any of you tried the Dell laptops with pre-installed Ubuntu? <snip> I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 on an IBM ThinkPad T61 with 2GB of RAM. Everything runs great, and I was even able to get a Logitech webcam to run on it. Not being a Linux guru like most of you, getting the webcam to work was a big deal for me. And, I attribute the success mostly to how easy Ubuntu 8.10 was to work with.
