I run an email list for a hobby of mine that has many, many technically illiterate subscribers. I run the list with ecartis and have it configured to convert html to plain text and strip attachments. Its saved me many headaches dealing with the countless AOL and Outlook (aka Microsoft Virus Server) users. I also have really tight quoting limits to catch the top posters and will just strip out the quoted parts of top posted messages in their entirety.
