Following up on my message about ansi color the other day, I'm interested in putting the following together: cat -A less ansi color (or just "color" if that is too restrictive) You can see why the first two cause problems: "cat -A" can match with stuff like this: ...when you cat a file... And the word "less" isn't just a command. Mike
