I started using DirectNIC a year or two back when GoDaddy did some things
that I found objectionable, and no the Danica Patrick ads were _not_ the
problem. I think things crystalized for me when they took down Seclists.org
though there were a couple other things as well. I've still got a couple
names with them that I'm waiting to get closer to expiration before I move
them, too dang cheap, and do find their interface these days to be horribly
crowded.
