The freegeek in PDX (http://www.freegeek.org/donate/) takes any computer or computer related hardware, functional or not. My understanding of the goals of freegeek were to literally take what people were "throwing away" and put it to good use. On the one hand I'd be surprised if fregeek Twin Cities acceptance criteria was any different based on my understanding of the "spirit of freegeek". On the other hand the goodwill donation center employees in MN pick through the stuff I'm giving them to see if it's good enough, whereas in Oregon they just took whatever I had as long as it didn't look like trash - they were thankful I gave them a chance to resell whatever I was getting rid of.
