Thanks Chuck - the length of your reply is why I'm not going for high-end
audiophile stuff. I have decent equipment right now, and I just think the
time ha come for non-crappy speakers to be attached to it. I kinda miss
the olden days when that meant less than 6 speakers (;

But yeah, my living room is not an ideal setup for sound, plus, like I
said, I'm not an audiophile, and I don't only listen to ONE type of music
(or sound - a lot of the times I'm watching movies). I'm not about to
spend thousands of dollars (or even a single thousand) on one pair of
speakers (and then more for the center channel and more for the satellites
etc etc) until I'm exceedingly rich and have spent a lot more on building
a perfect room to keep them in!

I have a nice Onkyo receiver now. It's high end for non-audiophiles and
probably as high up as I'll go. It's driving... Sony bookshelf speakers.
Which I got when I was very strapped, and are the ONLY part of this whole
setup that has not since been upgraded! So I think it's time to move up on
that (;
