It looks like my HP EliteBook 8540w has usb 3.0 45:00.0 USB Controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 03) I don't have any devices that are usb 3.0 though, so I haven't tried it. I would be willing to try it if someone has a device. (Could try it at the next penguins unbound meeting, Feb. 26) Here is the Kernel and distribution info on my laptop.
