I have a customer whose Ubuntu box (which we have limited ability to modify due to its primary function) is reporting wrong information for free disk space. I have a script that runs every hourly that clears out a specific log file but doesn’t update the available inodes in the file table. Is there a way to reset this without rebooting the server every 60 minutes? I don’t have the option to change file system types, partition sizes, I don’t have direct access to the hardware (it’s in the EU) and if I bring it offline I do not have a ready replacement ready to go (but the customer is “working on it”).
