I have an Ubuntu 10.10 server that was shutdown hard. The box is set up with a hardware raid 5. For whatever reason it is not dropping into single mode so I can run fsck manually. I know there is a problem with / and /boot. I am planning on booting to a live cd to fix things, but need to be sure I don't make a bigger mess.
