I"m a big fan of LUKS: https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Security_Guide/sect-Security_Guide-LUKS_Disk_Encryption.html I use it on my /home LVM partition, and every time I boot my machine it prompts me in a nice graphical format for my LUKS pass phrase.
