I've learned to stick with Arch through good and bad for over ten years now, but I don't blame you for leaving :-) Is the Infinality patchset available in OpenSuse? I've always gone with that on Arch. Also, Ubuntu has some of their own patchsets for freetype and fontconfig as well, worth checking out. http://www.infinality.net/blog/infinality-freetype-patches/ When you say looking like a CRT on an LCD sounds an awful lot like incorrect resolution or driver. What graphics chipset / driver are you using? Re: gnome3, I tried it for two months late fall and it's still too buggy for me, but the font rendering seemed fine. Been back and happy with xfce4 for now. -- Jeremy MountainJohnson Jeremy.MountainJohnson at gmail.com On Mon, Jan 5, 2015 at 1:30 PM, David Wagle <david.wagle at gmail.com> wrote: > *chuckle* > > I'm sure the roving death squads will try to come looking, but OpenSUSE's > might Yast2 shall keep them at bay! :) > > On Mon, Jan 5, 2015 at 1:20 PM, <tclug at freakzilla.com> wrote: >> >> >> >> On Mon, 5 Jan 2015, David Wagle wrote: >> >>> So I made the switch from Arch to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. >> >> >> >> Wait, wait, wait, someone switched AWAY from Arch??? >> >> Are you not afraid of the roving death-squads??? >> _______________________________________________ >> TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota >> tclug-list at mn-linux.org >> http://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list >> > > > > -- > David A.
