I haven't been to a physician since I required a physical for "key man insurance" in our fiber optics start-up in 1983 (except some ear drops for an ear infection). I should get some vaccinations, but I get calls to keep donating blood to the Red Cross. Beware the Medical Industrial Complex. As for Linux technology, (just to keep it on topic) I'm amazed by the XForms-toolkit. The maintainer, Jens Thoms Torring, is a Ph.D. chemical physicist (spectroscopy) now working in neurosciences. An early use of XForms-toolkit was a program called "rasmol," still available for Linux, that draws 3D proteins available from the "protein databank." I drew some peptide "electo-optic" properties on a ridiculous machine and suggested some nanophysics back in the day. A leader became the U of M supercomputer institute that got built where Otto Schmitt's lab was torn down, whom I helped when the bulldozer was at his door. So I don't know what is going on. But I suspect we are well on our way to third world status and more wars every month. Understanding science and technology tools is the best survival resource we have. A country where nobody can feed, house, power themselves is unique in all history. You have a right to reach out, and I have a right to ignore your links, and you mine. But thanks for a breath of life from the local Linux community.
