The attached piece from Washington Monthly may be a stretch for this forum and it does have a political perspective. But it does include some interesting perspectives on the importance of encouraging wifi / fiber optics / broadband development as an absolutely vital part of U.S. technical and economic competitiveness. This isn't just for the benefit of the poor or undereducated, whether you believe they exist and are deserving or not.
