I was wondering if anyone could help me with a few quick questions
regarding multicast support on TNTs. I'm new to the list, so apologies
if these questions have been asked before...
1) Performance: Has anyone seen any performance problems with
multicast on a loaded TNT? What would be the impact on performance if
hundreds of dial-up users all join the same group (say a 40kbps video
stream)? Would this situation hit performance more or less than if you
had many streams each with only a few users? Any experience that anyone
could share on these aspects would be very welcome...
2) Multilink PPP: I don't beleive multicast fowarding is supported on
multilink PPP sessions (at least on our TNTs with 8.0.4), either (a)
when all the sub-sessions terminate on the same box, or (b) when they
terminate on different boxes in the same PoP ('stacking'). Has anyone
else tried it and got different results?
