The shelf dial numbers are to be set as you stated but you need a Lucent/Ascend Proprietary cable to link both shelves through the uplink ports on the Shelf Controller. If you look for documentation for 6.0.x code, you should find all of the info there. I would not recommend you implement this, though as you may lose both of your TNT's if one crashes. Stacking is uses to rollover Multichannel connections on 2 or more separate chassis. In other words, If you have a MPP user that has a base ch count of 4 but there are only 2 channels available on the 1st shelf, the user will get the other 2 channels from lines on another chassis that has like trunk configurations. Thus getting all 4 of his channels from 2 different boxes. Good Luck, David Pascarella, MCSE CCNA A+ Network Support Engineer SOLUNET, Inc. 1571 Robert J. Stacking I'm about to add my second TNT and I'm very confused about the difference between stacking and multishelf. It appears that stacking isn't supported in later versions of the TAOS. What I can't find is anything at all in the manuals about how to set up multishelf. I can figure out the ports and how to plug it in, do I just set the shelf selector to 2 on the second TNT and there it goes? If that's the case, do I have to set up the second TNT in any special way, or do I even have to set it up at all? Anyone know where this is covered in the manual? Thanks! -- David A.
