Working under the premise that docs are for weenies, I went ahead and upgraded a 6096 to 9.0.2 tbixhk.m60 (or whatever it is). No additional flash was needed. The box has been running flawlessly for the last 3 months. As always, YMMV. -- Troy Settle Pulaski Networks 540.994.4254 - 866.477.5638 http://www.psknet.com ** -----Original Message----- ** From: owner-ascend-users at max.bungi.com ** [mailto:owner-ascend-users at max.bungi.com]On Behalf Of Dennis Duval ** Sent: Friday, October 12, 2001 11:37 AM ** To: ascend-users at bungi.com ** Subject: Re: (ASCEND) MAX 6000 UPGRADES!!!!! ** ** ** > I was told 9.0.2 would work without more, but reading the release note ** says "The standard software >files you use to upgrade to TAOS ** 9.0.2 require ** additional flash memory available to the MAX6K only >by way of external ** PCMCIA falsh card." ** > ** I too was hoping to upgrade to version 9.x but was stopped by the flash ** memory requirements.
