get into 'diag' mode on the MAX. In this case, you will likely have to
NINDY the MAX in order to restore good code onto your flash. NINDY is an
'undocumented' engineering procedure that involves opening the case and
shorting specific pins during a hard reboot. This enables you to get into
DF mode where you can Xmodem a TAOS file into flash. Sometimes, it works
and sometimes it doesn't and could render your MAX inoperable. It will also
void any warranty (not an issue w/ the 4000, though) or extended contract
agreement. You should be able to find the NINDY procedure by searching the
Inet. Otherwise, you can send it in for repair or maybe someone else has a
better idea.

Good Luck,

Subject: [Ascend] (ASCEND) MAX 4000 and POST FAILURE (05), some help
needed

Hi Ascend Users,

one of my colleagues had a power break and afterwards one MAX 4000
has a Power-On Self Test failure (05)

Does anyone know what hardware component could be broken?
Does anyone know what additional tests (monitor commands?)
can be executed to get more info?

Best regards and thanks in advance
	Charly
