The info came from Lucent over the phone, probably in an effort to get me to
start selling their new stuff.
But hey, thats GREAT that people are still using them AND as I mentioned
earlier, if its still on their ftp site, it must still be legal to get and
use.
So I apologize if I gave some bad info, but I was relaying what I was
"officially" told by Lucent not more than 1 year ago.
We dont get along that well anymore especially since they spun off Avaya and
Avaya owes me some source code per a binding contract with Lucent that they
refuse to give me. (another story)

I agree, once you get one working, leave it alone and it should keep
working.
They are not for the faint hearted tho... there's a lot more support for
other boxen like the pm3's.
And they are much easier to configure IMHO, and lots more support.
Too bad there isnt a maxboxes.com out there like portmasters.com ;-)
I seriously considered doing it too but i like the pms a lot better.

A couple folks posted directly to me (from this list) that they support the
max 4xxx and 6xxx so there ARE some on the list, so try to find them and see
what you can do to get some help getting them up and running. BTW, I
personally have some pdf's for the Max 2000 and Max 1800, which I understand
are RARE?
