Has any one of you, guys, ever set up a TACACS+ server to work with Lucent(Ascend) MAXes? I would like to authenticate users by CLID, username and password. The problem is that the MAX 6000 doesn't send the caller's telephone number to the TACACS+ server. The result from this is that the user's login attempt is not validated and the call is therefore dropped. Also, the first auth request packet does not contain the user's password, which comes in a second packet (????). Definitely the MAX gets the CLID from the telco - as can be seen in the Message Log window. I believe this is not a general problem with the authentication server's configuration, since (at the same time) it works with Cisco access servers. Possibly a patch or slight modification is needed.
